USC Marshall School of Business
Ariella Webb has over 8 years of professional experience. Ms. Webb worked most recently at Australia’s leading integrated energy company Origin Energy Ltd. within their Strategy and Valuations team. She was responsible for critically assessing investment opportunities and strategic planning of revenues, generally in the tens to hundreds of millions of dollars. Ms. Webb also has prior experience in infrastructure and project finance consulting with EY, banking through the Macquarie Group as well as experience in politics working with the United States and Australian governments. Ms. Webb holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science and a Master of Applied Commerce from the University of Melbourne. After graduating from IBEAR, Ms. Webb intends to continue her career as an in-house corporate strategy and finance leader.
Ian Joels has over 10 years of experience working in the real estate industry. He has a B.S. in Architecture and Urbanism he earned in part at Universidade de Brasília and Politecnico di Milano, in Italy. After working at a major architecture firm in Brazil, he was invited to be the first employee at a real estate development startup, STX, in Rio de Janeiro. As Director of STX, he created the company’s São Paulo branch and developed fourteen real estate undertakings with sales over $300 million. Among them were the first two buildings of what would become a large-scale urban redevelopment project in the Port area of Rio de Janeiro. He led the company’s transformation into a full service real estate company, adding construction and sales to its original strategy and became head of new business, sales and marketing departments. Mr. Joels also holds an EMBA at Coppead/UFRJ and intends to expand his knowledge in structuring large operations in globally-oriented business.
Paula Katsurayama has over eight years of experience working in Information Technology. She began her career as a consultant with Accenture, specializing in SAP project management and working with clients in Mozambique, Oman, Peru and Argentina. In 2012, Paula joined Vale, a global mining company, as an IT Project Leader. In her most recent role she collaborated in one of the most challenging SAP projects in the world; involving more than 800 people and 200 business processes worldwide. Born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Paula holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Escola de Administraçao de Empresas de Sao Paulo-FGV. After IBEAR, Ms. Katsurayama intends to further her career as an IT Project Manager with an international company.
Thiago Aidar Menezes has over 10 years of work experience, mostly with financial institutions. He comes to the IBEAR program from Itaú Unibanco, one of the largest banks in Brazil, where he worked in Capital Markets, Insurance and Asset Management. He was responsible for the distribution of investment funds for corporate clients in Brazil, handling over $5 billion of Assets under Management. At Itaú, he’s also worked as an underwriter in the Insurance division focused on financial risks. Thiago graduated from Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP) with a degree in Industrial Engineering in Sao Paolo with an extension at INPG (Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble) in France. He also holds a master of science in Business Administration from Insper, São Paulo. After graduating the IBEAR Program, Thiago aims to continue his career in the Financial Services Industry.
Hugo Perillo Vieira e Souza joins IBEAR from São Salvador Alimentos S/A, one of the largest chicken packing companies in Brazil. As Mr. Perillo’s family owns the company, IBEAR is part of his succession plan to prepare him to lead the organization. He has broad experience, ranging from general management to creative; conceptualizing new product lines and even brands. Being responsible for all export sales of his company, Mr. Perillo visited clients in many countries which taught him much about different cultures and markets. His most recent contribution to Sao Salvador Alimentos S/A was the creation of a new product line that developed a new revenue stream, now representing more than 10% of the company’s total sales. Hugo earned his Business Administration degree from Fundação Getúlio Vargas in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. After IBEAR he plans to return to the family business.
Nicolas Fonseca joins the IBEAR Program from BTG Pactual, a leading Investment Bank in South America. He has over seven years of experience in asset management, equities, asset allocation and securities trading. He spent the last few years as an Equity Sales/Trader, providing investment ideas to institutional clients with a focus on market timing and top-down and bottom-up analysis. Mr. Fonseca also helped BTG achieve the largest percentage market share in Chile. Additionally, he was in charge of expanding the securities business with local pension funds. Prior to joining BTG, he was the Portfolio Manager at ProVida pension fund, overseeing the Asian equity portfolio (AUM US$5.1bn) and performing securities trading. Mr. Fonseca earned an Industrial Engineering degree at Universidad de Chile. His work experience has led him to the financial sector, where he intends to continue working upon finishing the MBA.
Renato Ramírez has 11 years of experience in innovation, industrial marketing, sales, and strategic planning. Renato joins the IBEAR program from Enaex, the largest full blasting service provider for the mining industry in South America, where he worked as the Innovation and R&D Manager. At Enaex he was responsible for managing innovation and applied research processes. He led a team of 25 multifaceted engineers working closely with marketing and sales. Additionally, he developed and launched three new added value products within one year, generating annual sales of $3 million and developed an innovation management system, holding an innovation portfolio contributing $11 million/year EBITDA. He graduated from the Universidad de Chile with a B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering. At IBEAR, Mr. Ramizrez plans to further develop his leadership skills and acquire strategic global business knowledge to play a key role in the international expansion of Enaex.
Juan Staudt joins the IBEAR class from Chile where he acquired 10 years of experience in both mass-market consumer goods and retail. His most recent position was with the Latin-American retailer Cencosud, where he managed the company’s most valuable brand, Jumbo, a high-end specialty retail chain. In the last two years he oversaw the brand’s repositioning, gaining 2 points of market share and profit. Juan graduated from Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez with a B.S. in Industrial Engineering and a M.A. in Business Engineering. On graduating from the IBEAR Program, Juan aims to combine his market and sales experience with his engineering foundation and the skills he learns during his MBA to pursue a career in product development.
Changhua (Benson) Chen joins this year’s IBEAR class from Vipshop Holdings Limited where he’s worked for four years in E-commerce. As a senior financial Controller of a US listed company, he supervised overall financial management including budgeting, financial analysis, reporting and internal tax management. Most recently, he served as the CFO for Feiyuan Logistics Group, leading the integration work after they were acquired by Vipshop. Prior to Vipshop, he worked at the Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu for six years as an audit manager, auditing financial and manufacturing companies. Mr. Chen holds AICPA & CICPA certificates and an M.A. in Industrial Economics from Shanghai University. Following the program he plans to pursue a CFO position at an overseas listed company.
Cindy Chen has over twelve years of experience in finance. After graduating from Fudan University with a Bachelor of Economics, she started her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers (“PwC”), where she gained rich experience in IPOs and a solid foundation in financial reporting. After PwC, Ms. Chen joined Yingli Green Energy Holding Co. Ltd. (“Yingli”, NYSE: YGE) and worked as financial controller focusing on capital raising, investor relationships and US reporting for three years. Most recently, Ms. Chen worked for four years with Trustbridge Partners, a China-based venture capital and private equity investment firm which focuses on internet and healthcare areas. There she accumulated rich experiences in e-commerce, P2P financing and O2O business through actively participating in the due diligence and deal execution of potential investments and portfolio managements. Following the IBEAR program she intends to continue her career in finance.
Xue Li has worked in marketing with Blue Focus Communication Group (BFCG), the largest communication group in Asia, for the past ten years. Before she immigrated to the U.S. in 2014 she was the only female Vice President to manage Blue Focus’ largest integrated business group, which consisted of 200 employees with $150 million in revenue. Ms. Li graduated with a degree in law from Northern Jiao Tong University and also holds a degree from Peking University in Integrated Marketing and Communication. After IBEAR, Ms. Li plans to set up a BFCG branch in Los Angeles. She wants to help BFCG and more Chinese enterprises enhance their brand image through international film marketing and make the “Made in China” initiative more popular in the United States.
Yuanjie Li joins the IBEAR Program from the Xinyuan Real Estate Co., a leading international real estate company listed in the NYSE. She formerly worked at Ernst & Young and has extensive experience in the financing and financial reporting field, in areas such as: bond offering, public offering, and annual reporting. Her most recent role was leading two high-yield bond offerings and TPG investments as a financial reporting director, raising approximately $500 million USD. She also played a key role in Dangdang Inc.’s NYSE listing process, which was the first Chinese E-commerce company listed in the US stock market. Ms. Li received her bachelor’s degree from Capital University of Economy and Business in 2006 and is also a Certified Public Accountant in New Hampshire. Her diverse experiences have led to her interest in corporate finance, where she intends to pursue a career in real estate or IT industry after completion of the program.
Youji (Ryan) Zhang has over 13 years of HR experience in China, focused mostly on organization development and effectiveness. In his recent role as country HR manager of Murphy Instruments China, Ryan developed and deployed new HR strategy which supported the company’s successful transition from a solo manufacturer to one with multiple functions and locations. Previously, as regional HR Manager of Akzo Nobel Coatings Asia, Ryan reorganized their regional sales force and introduced a new HR Model into the business unit. After assuming the position of Organization Development Manager of Schneider Electric China, Ryan was recognized as Manager of Year in 2010 for his successful leading of organization integration and leadership development in a newly merged Chinese business with 3500 employees, Delixi Electric. Ryan earned a master’s degree in Management from the Northeast Forestry University in China. After the program, Mr. Zhang intends to work as a strategic planner or Organization Development/HR consultant in Asia.
Xin Zhou has over 9 years of experience in the convention and exhibition industry. She began her career with Airshow China, the only government-endorsed aerospace exhibition organizer in China. She worked as a Project Manager; overseeing sales, operations and after-sales services. She has exposure to international venue management at the Venetian Macao Resort Hotel, and was a key participant in the design, construction and opening of the world class Zhuhai International Convention and Exhibition Center. In her most recent role as Revenue Manager, she successfully implemented the venue management and customer relation management system, constituted SOPs and conducted revenue analysis. Ms. Zhou is multilingual – speaking Mandarin and Cantonese, English and Russian. She earned a BA in Russian Language at South China Normal University. To equip herself with knowledge in international business, she aims to pursue her career in global venue management business after the program.
Ahmed Borai has over six years of professional experience in outsourcing services and telecom industries. He most recently worked with Etisalat, a leading international telecom company, and has diverse functional experience ranging from sales and marketing to consulting and contract management. Borai holds a certificate of higher education from London School of Economics in Economics and an engineering degree in Electronics and Communication from a top Egyptian university, The American University in Cairo. Mr. Borai is also passionate about entrepreneurship. He began his entrepreneurial career in college by working as a freelance graphic designer, later opening an event-based salad bar, and founding a website specializing in automotive spare parts. Mr. Borai is planning to complete his entrepreneurial journey after finishing his MBA and transform his innovative ideas into great business entities.
Ahmed Shabana joins IBEAR after nine years of solid entrepreneurial experience. He is recognized as the “Egyptian revolution entrepreneur” by the Wall Street Journal and The Financial Times after founding Agzakhana.com, Middle East and Africa’s first online pharmacy and securing venture capital from Vodafone Ventures at a $1 million valuation. Mr. Shabana secured an exit offer from a local pharmaceutical manufacturer and grew the business during the region’s economic turmoil. Agzakhana.com generated millions in sales turnover while receiving recognition from Google, MIT, and the Orange Group. Mr. Shabana earned a BS of Pharmacy from Cairo University before gaining sales experience through work at GlaxoSmithKline and AstraZeneca. He was Vimpelcom’s entrepreneur in residence, launching wearables and big data products across 14 telecom carriers and ultimately receiving the GSMA award for Mobile World Congress. Following the program Mr. Shabana intends to pursue venture capital and international investment endeavors.
Chandan Ahuja joins the IBEAR from The Times of India Group, the world largest circulated English daily and India’s largest media conglomerate. He has over 15 years’ experience in conceptualizing and implementing experiential marketing platforms for consumer goods companies in India. In his most recent role, he was designated as Deputy General Manager in New Delhi. He managed the dual roles of heading business development function for a business unit and supporting management in transforming the sales force from being mere salesmen to being media strategists. Mr. Ahuja comes from New Delhi, where he completed his bachelor in business management from University of Delhi, with a diploma in design merchandising and a post graduate diploma in international business management. He has built a career working in urban as well rural markets across India. After the program he intends to lead a mobile media company and aspires to work towards solving problems in the healthcare and education sectors.
Ridhima Arora has over eight years of global business consulting experience coupled with a proven skill-set at Fortune 500 companies such as Sapient Corporation, Infosys Technologies and Chevron Corporation. As a technology business consultant, she provided technical leadership, expertise and strategic vision in the energy trading and risk management domain. She has led cross-geographical teams in the US, UK, Singapore and India in building software products and facilitating cross-functional communication. Ms. Arora responsible for advising multiple business units within major Oil and Gas companies to streamline clients’ business processes and carry out vast implementations in multiple project phases using Agile Methodology. Ms. Arora graduated from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, India with a Bachelor of Technology Degree in Instrumentation and Control Engineering. Her commitment in Leadership led her towards the IBEAR MBA program and upon graduation she intends to pursue a career in Product or Project Management in the Technology industry.
Vinod Kakde joins the IBEAR Program from Deloitte India, where he worked as a Program Manager on a thirty million dollar based public financial management project for two State Governments. Vinod provided strategic planning and systems integration consulting to Deloitte’s clients. Prior to Deloitte, he was director of strategic planning overseeing quality assurance, product marketing, and business development for a startup company focused on data centers and cloud services. In addition, Mr. Kakde has previously worked for over 12 years on large e-Governance and Enterprise projects. He has a Bachelor’s in Technology in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta. He is also a PMP and Black Belt Six Sigma Certified. Mr. Kakde was a guest faculty at the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad, and Tapmi Business School. After completion of the IBEAR program he intends to work with an international management consulting firm.
Arjun Sondhi has 6 years of capital markets experience. In his last position at Bloomberg, he was part of new strategic research initiative. Mr. Sondhi was involved in development, implementation and sales of credit rating and equity valuation platforms. This had a significant impact on terminal sales and in turn ancillary revenue. Prior, at Lehman Brothers, he quadrupled equity coverage for the healthcare sector. He built models to estimate next quarterly earnings and probability for success of pipeline drugs for Biotechnology companies. These models were successfully used to design trading strategy and risk reduction in collaboration with the proprietary desk. He received his Bachelor’s in Technology in Civil Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and recently graduated with an MSBA in Management Science from Simon Business School. At Simon, he worked on projects related to clinical trial design, redundancy in service contracts, and expansion strategy for a cancer care center. After the program, Arjun intends to find opportunities in strategy consulting in the U.S.
Kedar Savur has over nine years of experience in the telecommunications industry. In his most recent position at Level3 Communications, a top-tier Internet services provider, he led initiatives to standardize engineering processes across global regions after acquisitions. He has worked with teams in North America, Latin America, and Europe to develop strategies to improve customer experience in areas ranging from end user services and data center applications to service activation. Most recently he was involved in leading a project to commission upgrades to Level3’s global data services network. He graduated from the University of Mumbai with a B.S. in Electronics Engineering. He also holds an M.S. in Telecommunications from the University of Colorado. Upon graduation, he plans to lead the global operations of a technology company and help it expand its business in the global market through mergers and acquisitions.
Alice Suryasentana brings to the program, seven years of banking experience from UBS AG, one of the largest private wealth management companies in the world. She has an extensive knowledge of the financial market, especially that of foreign exchange. As an FX structured Sales representative covering the Southeast Asia region, she structured many bank treasury products and provided ultra-high net worth clients and other financial institutions with balanced investment advisory. During the financial crisis she helped a few of her key clients rebound from negative investment returns to healthy profitable ones. Ms Suryasentana speaks fluently in English, Mandarin and Bahasa Indonesian. She has also lived and worked in Switzerland and Singapore, where she received her B.S. degree in Computational Finance from National University of Singapore. Upon graduation, she intends to leverage her solid financial experience and progress into Private Equity.
Hideto (Hide) Azuki* joins the IBEAR Program from Dentsu Inc., a leading advertising agency in Japan. He has extensive experience in brand management, advertising media operations and digital strategies. His most recent role was to drive collaboration between global group agencies to create a new global agency network form. From 2010 through 2013, he was assigned to Dentsu’s India subsidiary as Vice President. His mandate was to organize the structure and integrate the business domains of the Dentsu group in India. Mr. Azuki was born in Japan, spent his elementary and high school years in Canada and completed his education with a B.A. degree in law from Rikkyo University. His diverse experience has led to his interest in international business. Following IBEAR, Hideto intends to continue his contribution to Dentsu’s global strategies.
Takafumi Ikuta joins the IBEAR program from Mizuho Bank, Ltd, one of the largest financial institutions in Japan. He has worked with Mizuho Bank for the past 18 years, of which he spent 7 years in Thailand as Vice President of Business Promotion. Through his career, he has worked as a relationship manager with over 1,500 companies that have ranged from heavy to light industries and from small to huge conglomerates. Mr. Ikuta earned a B.A. in Law from Chuo University in Japan. For the past two years Ikuta has worked with one of the biggest conglomerates in Japan where he lead more than 30 colleagues in different countries to support the customers’ global expansion. Following IBEAR, Takafumi intends to continue his contributions to Mizuho’s global business expansion.
Go Kojima* joins the IBEAR Program from Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Co., Ltd. (TMNF), a leading insurance company in Japan. He has worked for the claims service department for eight years, handling large-scale liability insurance and general liability insurance for professionals such as lawyers, accountants and architects. He is especially familiar with accidents in heavy, retail business and the nursing industries, where he has managed task forces to provide loss prevention services. Mr.Kojima earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the Keio University. Following IBEAR, Go will return to TMNF to collaborate with global companies to seek new risk control strategies.
Sho Nakazawa* joins the IBEAR program from The Bank of Japan (BOJ), Japan’s central bank. With his knowledge of corporate analysis and bank examination, Sho has contributed to BOJ’s monetary and prudence policy. Through his career at the BOJ, he has interviewed presidents and directors of more than 300 companies in Japan to examine qualitative and quantitative economic data to help set financial projections. He contributed to the solving of financial difficulties of small companies caused by the Great East Earthquake in March 2011. His most recent role was to control currency circulation; he and his team managed a quarter of the BOJ’s total budget. Mr. Nakazawa holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law from Waseda University. Following IBEAR, Sho hopes to contribute to the economic and financial development of the BOJ in order to protect Japan from global financial crises.
Tatsuto Tsuge* joins IBEAR from Development Bank of Japan Inc. (DBJ), a financial institution owned by the Japanese government. He joined the bank in 2004, and has 11 years of diversified experience in corporate financial services. Most recently, in his role as Vice President in the Customer Solution Planning Office at DBJ’s Tokyo headquarters, he has been proposing financial strategies and developing financial products for clients. Tatsuto was one of the original members of DBJ when this office was established in 2011. Since then, he has designed and executed innovative financial strategies to support corporate clients in the automobile, auto parts and electronics sectors. He is also responsible for developing advanced financial products, such as convertible bonds and preferred stocks. Mr. Tsuge holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Hitotsubashi University. Following IBEAR, Tatsuto intends to become a long perspective leader at the Development Bank of Japan.
Changhwan Bae* has over ten years of professional experience at Korean Air. Most recently, he worked in the passenger marketing department as a project manager and analyst, where he introduced many innovative tools such as email marketing, web log analysis, and a travel planner. He also led the new SKYPASS loyalty system implementation Task Force. The project consisted of three parts, the new SKYPASS system, a campaign system, and business intelligence. As a project manager, he has demosntrated great organizing ability and communication skills. Changhwan holds a B.A. in Communication from Seoul National University. Mr. Bae has extensive skills in New Media technology. Before joining Korean Air, he participated in several projects as a flash developer building promotional websites for commercial films. After IBEAR, Changwan will return to Korean Air, where he hopes to contribute his talent to passenger sales and the marketing division.
Yoon Sok (YS) Baek joins IBEAR with 12 years of experience in private equity and investment banking. Most recently, Y.S. was a Principal at Unitas Capital (formerly JPMorgan Partners Asia) where he led the investment, portfolio monitoring, and business development activities of the Seoul office. With a focus in the consumer and retail sector at Unitas, He served as an observer on the boards of directors of Buy The Way and Nepa in Korea, and Godfreys in Australia. Prior to Unitas, Mr. Baek was an Analyst in the investment banking division of Lehman Brothers where he worked on various M&A and capital market transactions. Y.S. holds a B.A. in Business Administration from Seoul National University. He has also completed the International Study Program at the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland. Following IBEAR, Y.S. plans to continue working in the alternative investment industry.
Yunwoo Jung* joins IBEAR from POSCO. He has worked for 8 years at the finance department as a manager responsible for financial planning and accounting. Most recently, his role was to analyze the company’s financial issues, and provide data to support top management for executing critical decisions related to pricing policy and group reorganization. He also led the entire process of consolidated closings for more than 300 subsidiaries of POSCO, for which he received an awarded from the CFO for exemplary team performance. Mr. Jung graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Seoul National University. Following IBEAR, Yunwoo intends to expand his career into the fields of strategy and business development at POSCO. His goal is to serve as principal manager at an overseas branch of the company.
Suwon Kim* joins IBEAR from the National Tax Service(NTS), Korea’s national tax agency. She is a specialist in international taxation. Most recently she worked at the international investigation division of the NTS head office. Before working as a government officer, Suwon worked as a CPA in BDO Daejoo LLC, one of Korea’s big 5 accounting firms. She has been the Korean representative for the OECD sub group for the exchange of tax information. Suwon has published several OECD books, such as “Peer Review Report on Transparency and Exchange of Information”. As a university student, she majored in English but chose to develop her career as an accounting and taxation specialist. Ms. Kim earned her bachelor’s degree in English Literature and Management from Pusan National University. Following IBEAR, Suwon will continue her work with NTS.
KI SUK (Kris) LEE* joins IBEAR from the Home Appliance Division of LG Electronics. Mr. Lee has worked as an overseas marketer since 2009. In this role, he has set up product road maps, localized marketing strategies, developed marketing communication materials, and supported the sales and marketing capabilities of overseas subsidiaries. His most recent position was leader of the sales task team for global bigger-capacity washing machines. Kris has also worked as a sales engineer, developing product-training processes and providing training to floor sales people besides being a key account manager. Mr. Lee earned a B.S. degree in Engineering and an M.S. degree in Business Administration from Sungkyunkwan University. Following IBEAR he intends to continue his contribution to LG Electronics.
Sangyong (Simon) Lee* joins IBEAR with 11 years of professional experience from Dongkuk Steel, Korea’s third largest steel manufacturer. In his first 8 years at the company, he focused on acquiring hands-on training in a manufacturing plant. His previous practical experience in labor management, procurement and quality control contributed to his role in the Marketing Strategy Department during his last 3 years. In this positon, Mr. Lee primarily established the sales and production plan of long steel products. Additionally, he successfully introduced new manufacturing equipment that produces bar-in-coil to penetrate a new market. He also devised a pricing formula for deformed steel bar, which is one of the most competitive steel markets in Korea. Mr. Lee holds a B.S. in Management Information Systems from Dong-A University. Following IBEAR, he intends to work in the financial division of Dongkuk Steel, and play a larger role as a Chief Operating Officer.
JiYoung (Jenny) Min* joins IBEAR with five years of experience at Mando Corporation, a leading automotive supplier in Korea. Serving as a senior secretary to the chairman, she has participated in projects to improve the corporate culture and has contributed to the development of a sound corporate culture. With a long-term interest in marketing, she joined Mando Footloose, an electric bicycle project, made a Mando executive conference presentation on ‘New Marketing Future of Mando Footloose’, and recommended three potential marketing strategies to top management. Ms. Min obtained B.A. in International Office Administration from Ewha Womans University in Seoul, Korea. Through her studies in Japan and Canada she has gained fluency in both Japanese and English. Following IBEAR, she will continue helping the company be one of the most respected leaders in the global automotive industry.
Sang Won Oh* joins IBEAR from POSCO, where he has spent 7.5 years in the steel business marketing department. Through his work, he has gained skills in steel sales for the automotive industry, and management of personnel affairs. He was the lead in the Task Force Team to develop tailor-made low-cost products for GMK Auto Parts. He also established an effective management of marketing manpower strategy for POSCO globally. Mr. Oh graduated from Chonnam National University in Korea, with a B.A. in Business Administration. He has studied as an exchange student at the University of British Columbia in Canada, and has worked as an intern assistant at Hyundai Heavy Industries in Chicago. Following IBEAR, he plans to work as a marketing director at an overseas branch of POSCO. Byungjun (June) Park* joins IBEAR from LG Electronics Inc., a global leading multinational electronics company. He has extensive experience in product planning, business strategy, and business development. As a project and business leader, he is experienced in diverse devices, services, and collaboration with other global corporations including Microsoft, Intel, and Google. His most recent role was to develop content, service strategy, and new services for Smart TV products. Mr. Park majored in Chinese Language and Literature at Seoul National University. With his background in liberal arts combined with an understanding of technology, following IBEAR, Byungjun intends to continue his contribution to LG Electronics’ global strategy.
In Joon(IJ) Seo* joins IBEAR from Korean Air, where he spent the past twelve years. He has extensive experience in the passenger business, and has gained expertise in areas such as e-commerce and strategy development. Most recently, he was a strategic coordinator for Korean Air’s equity partnership with S-Oil and Czech Airlines. As a coordinator, Mr. Seo was responsible for providing analysis on various strategic issues arising from the partnership, and for coordinating executive meetings, which were regularly held among key stakeholders. In Joon holds a B.A. degree in Organizational Communication from Purdue University. Following, IBEAR, he will return to Korean Air where he plans to contribute to developing and implementing a network strategy with key partner airlines.
Jesus Leyva joins IBEAR from a real estate family business that he launched. Previously, Jesus worked for MABE, a major appliance manufacturer in Latin America, and a commercial partner of GE Appliances. In his last role, he was a Material Cost Take Out (MCTO) Project Leader. He spent three years in MABE LEISER, the biggest range manufacturing plant in the world, and another ten months in MABE’s Costa Rican plant. During his time as a project leader, Mr. Leyva, managed a budget of $1.1M USD MCTO projects. Jesus graduated from the Universidad Autonoma de San Luis Potosi as a Physics Engineer. Following IBEAR, he is looking to work as a management consultant.
Sergei Litovchenko joins the IBEAR program with over 20 years of experience as a senior executive and entrepreneur in business and social projects. He has a unique blend of experiences from strategy consulting at Accenture to public and government service to starting-up the Russian Managers’ Association, a successful and highly regarded professional management organization providing its 2500+ member senior executives of large international and Russian corporations with professional networking and career development opportunities. Sergei holds an M.S. degree (Summa Cum Laude) in Economics from Voronezh State University. He is an author of multiple books and publications on innovation, economic development and corporate social responsibility. Following IBEAR, Sergei intends to continue his entrepreneurial/intrapreneurial work related to new product development on the edge of edutainment and technology.
Yi-Hsuan Chen joins the IBEAR program from HTC Corporation with ten years of new product development experience. As an engineering program manager, Mr. Chen led diverse teams and managed numerous industry-leading projects including the PDA, SmartPhone and Accessories for worldwide customers. Envisioning the growing trend of Automotive Electronics, Mr. Chen spearheaded to the development of the automotive product line and founded the Automotive Division inside HTC. Under Mr. Chen’s leadership, his team successfully assisted Luxgen Motor in launching Asia-First Windows Automotive and the Android Based Infotainment System in 2009 and 2011 respectively. Holding solid experience in OEM/ODM/OBM business models, he also acquired many professional credentials such as PMP, NPDP and CBAP. Mr. Chen earned his B.S. in Industrial Engineering from National Tsing-Hua University and an M.B.A. from National Central University. Following IBEAR, Mr. Chen intends to pursue a career in Product and Business Strategy in a multinational high-tech or automotive company.
Cigdem (Cindy) Tetik is a sales and marketing professional with nine years of experience in the FMCG industry. She most recently worked as a Regional Marketing Manager at Philip Morris International, the largest tobacco company in the world. She specialized in Field Brand Marketing and became the first female manager in her department. She managed a team for the marketing activities of eight brands in the Western and Mediterranean regions of Turkey with a $2 million budget. She holds a bachelor degree in Business Administration from Hacettepe University in Turkey, and she received scholarships to pursue language courses and internships in Europe. After graduation she worked in human resources at Nike European Headquarters for a year. With her strong interpersonal and analytical skills combined with her international background she wants to pursue her career in marketing analytics and brand management in the USA after her MBA degree at USC.
Yan Pronin brings 10 years of leadership and analytical experience in Hospitality and Finance to the IBEAR Program. Most recently Yan has been a Director of Revenue at SLS Hotel and Casino – the newest mega-resort on the Las Vegas Strip. There he was spearheading the revenue team, overseeing the dynamic pricing strategy and revenue optimization being directly responsible for driving $50+ million of annual hotel revenue. Previously he led initiatives in revenue management, operational analysis, capital analytics, and strategic planning at two of the world’s largest hospitality-entertainment companies: Caesars and Tropicana. Yan has graduated with honors from the University of Minnesota Duluth receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and has earned a Graduate Certificate in Applied Statistics from Penn State University. He has also successfully passed the CFA Level 1 Exam. After graduating from Marshall IBEAR Program, Yan looks forward to pursuing a career in international consulting.

Kira Foken brings over 10 years of management and operations experience to the IBEAR Program. She has worked in both Asia and South America and has significant experience in international business. Before joining IBEAR, Ms. Foken spent 4 years serving as Director of Procurement/Operations for Solidarity Bridge, an NGO focused on surgical training and sustainable healthcare for those living in poverty in Bolivia. As a Director at Solidarity Bridge, she increased in-kind contributions from $2.8 to $7.5 million per year and developed an internship program of more than 15 annual participants. Prior to working in the non-profit sector, Ms. Foken held management positions in a multinational B2B service provider and a nanotechnology start-up. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in English and Film Studies at the Ohio State University. Upon receiving her MBA, Ms. Foken intends to pursue management roles in operations, aiding companies in developing their business globally.
Franklin Fuentes joins the IBEAR Program with seven years of international business development and project management experience in consulting and non-profit work. He started his career managing community development projects in rural Panama and subsequently moved to China. Most recently, he served as the Business Development Manager for Tractus Asia, a boutique cross-border investment advisory firm, where he worked out of the firm’s China and Thailand offices. During his time in Asia, he held sales, marketing, and project management responsibilities, serving both Fortune 500 companies and government organizations. Mr. Fuentes graduated from the University of Southern California in 2006 with B.A. degrees in Chinese and International Relations. Following IBEAR, Mr. Fuentes intends to continue his international career in a business development role in technology.
Sun Migliacci joins the IBEAR program from Varitus Ltd, a London-based multi-disciplinary investment firm / strategy and marketing consultancy for promising start-ups and small to mid-sized companies. As Principal for the firm, she helped burgeoning companies optimize areas of general management and business development. Sun started her financial career at Lehman Brothers supporting asset allocation needs for ultra high net worth individuals and institutions. After quickly rising through the ranks to Senior Investment Associate, she furthered her career at Credit Suisse’s Private Banking division. She received her B.A. in Economics from the University of California, San Diego. Ms. Migliacci brings many years of professional and entrepreneurial work experience coupled with specific industry knowledge to the IBEAR program. Upon completion of the program, she plans to return to the private equity sector with specific focus on international investment.
Keith Perrigon joins IBEAR with 20 years of experience in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he was responsible for project and operations management during overseas tours in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Throughout his career, he planned and led intelligence analysis and collection operations, and special operations. In his last deployed assignment, he was a negotiator and strategic planner for Marine Special Operations Forces, where he led a Joint Planning Group tasked with clarifying the strategic roles of various military units in the Pacific. Since 2014, Mr. Perrigon also worked as an independent consultant for SimpleFi—a Palo Alto, CA based financial services provider—where he conducted search engine optimization and search engine marketing. He holds degrees from the Defense Language Institute and Excelsior College in Chinese Mandarin and Liberal Arts. Following IBEAR, Mr. Perrigon will pursue a career in managerial consulting.
Roberto Peña is an MBA Candidate at USC’s Marshall School of Business. He is a former Senior Trade & Economic Advisor to the European Union. In this capacity, Roberto monitored and reported on trade and economic policy developments, coordinated government-to-government dialogues, managed research/analytics projects, and advised top-level officials on policy, strategy and engagement. He was also a member of the EU negotiation team for the free trade agreement currently being negotiated between the EU and US. Previously, Mr. Peña served as a Policy Advisor in the US Congress for current US Senator Edward Markey (D-MA), and as a Governance and Anti-Corruption consultant for the World Bank in Mexico. He holds a Master’s Degree in International Economics from the Johns Hopkins University‘s School of Advanced International Studies, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Boston University. Mr. Peña hopes to leverage his experience to help companies develop and advance their international strategies.
Cullen Steele joins the IBEAR program from Target Corporation, a leading general merchandise, multi-channel retailer in the United States. He brings over 15 years of experience in retail leadership, along with advanced proficiencies in personnel management and development, financial planning and analysis, operational efficiency, and customer service. Most recently, Mr. Steele was responsible for all aspects of a $50M operation in the Seattle, WA market. Prior to joining Target, he led a three-state region of specialty consumer electronics stores in the southwestern US. Mr. Steele earned his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Colorado. He looks forward to integrating his academic training with his extensive leadership experience in order to assist in the development and implementation of global business strategies.
Elizabeth Stokely brings seven years of experience in education and operations management to the IBEAR program. Her experience spans the public, nonprofit, and for-profit sectors across the United States and Latin America. As an analyst and operations supervisor at McMaster-Carr Supply, Ms. Stokely streamlined weekend staffing and led major distribution center initiatives while managing over 20 employees in freight operations. Previously, she served as an Education Specialist with the U.S. Peace Corps in Ecuador, where she implemented a new teacher training and evaluation program. She holds a B.A. in International Studies and Spanish from Dickinson College. An active member of both the Fulbright and National Peace Corps Associations, Ms. Stokely plans to pursue a career in human resources and social entrepreneurship following IBEAR.

, where he acted as Partner Manager for the Glass at Work program and helped build Google’s enterprise wearables division from the ground up. Sami secured new business and sales growth in healthcare and manufacturing, and he mentored startups that began R&D work with Glass. Furthermore, Mr. Tahari oversaw the Google Glass Creative Collective; a partnership between YouTube and film schools to explore Glass in filmmaking. He produced the viral video Seeds
which was viewed nearly 2.8M times. Prior to Google, Sami worked in the film industry. He managed over thirty global marketing campaigns at Lionsgate, including the launch of The Hunger Games
. He earned a B.A. degree in Political Economy of Industrial Societies from the University of California, Berkeley

Mirla Urzua joins the IBEAR Program from Teach For America, a national non-profit that specializes in the development of education leaders committed to serving low-income public schools. Her six years at TFA focused on building partnerships across a variety of stakeholders including the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), the second largest school district in the US. Additionally, Ms. Urzua worked on recruitment of new teachers, coaching on equity and inclusiveness work, adult professional development, contract and partnership negotiation, and training and support for new educators in Los Angeles. Prior to joining TFA, she taught second grade at 109th Street Elementary School in Los Angeles. She has a B.A. from Harvard University in Government and a M.A. from Loyola Marymount University in Urban Education. Her long-term goal is to establish a company that provides bilingual consulting services to micro-business owners in Los Angeles.
Beth Wilion comes to the IBEAR program with 11 years of experience working in accounting and finance with a focus in entertainment and technology industries. She has been living and working for the past 8 years in Seattle employed at some of the top technology companies in the world including Microsoft, Expedia and Amazon. Most recently she comes from Amazon Web Services leading the Marketing Operations team. Beth has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Finance with a minor in Fine Arts from Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business, with a year intensive focus in Finance at the London School of Economics. Beth intends to focus on the non-profit sector and intends to move into non-profit and museum management upon completion of her MBA.
Scott M. Zolendziewski joins the IBEAR Program as a 10-year leader within various U.S. Army Special Forces and Infantry organizations. Since 2005, he has deployed to Afghanistan three times and been decorated for valorous actions. He has gained the skills and experience necessary to build, train, and lead elite-level organizations as well as design and execute a variety of projects within many different environments. Most recently, he worked as a project manager for over thirty U.S. Embassies throughout Europe and Africa and consulted senior defense officials on numerous foreign military sales and training projects. Mr. Zolendziewski holds a B.A. in History from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Following IBEAR, Scott intends to utilize his problem solving and leadership skills within the financial industry.
